Frequently Asked Questions
Commonly asked questions about individual therapy involve its effectiveness in addressing personal issues, session duration, what to expect, frequency, confidentiality, and therapist selection. On the other hand, couples often inquire about the scope of couples therapy, its distinction from individual therapy, session duration, therapist impartiality, progress assessment, handling reluctant partners, and finding a suitable therapist. These queries help individuals and couples make informed decisions about seeking therapeutic assistance tailored to their needs. See our FAQs below.
You might need therapy if you’re struggling to cope with daily life, experiencing persistent sadness, anxiety, or stress. Changes in behavior, like increased irritability or withdrawal, along with physical symptoms such as sleep disturbances, may indicate underlying emotional issues. Seeking support can provide valuable insights and coping strategies.

During the initial therapy session, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals and expectations, as well as your personal history and background. The therapist may also explain their approach and discuss confidentiality and boundaries. It is a time to establish rapport and begin the therapeutic process.
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some people may benefit from short-term therapy lasting a few visits to many visits, while others may engage in long-term therapy for several months or even years. The therapist will work with you to determine the most appropriate length of treatment.
